Life Comes Before Growth
nPeople cannot grow spiritually if they
aren’t born
again. They are still dead in sin.
–Ephesians
2:4-5 But because of his great love
for us,
God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us
alive with
Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-- it is by grace you have been saved.
nSpiritual disciplines and methods will
not help
someone grow who is dead. They often obscure their lostness. This was true
of John Wesley
before his conversion.
nYou cannot clean a fish before it is
caught.
