Interested in serving in South Sudan? Do you need to get outside the church walls? Consider joining us on our sixth short-term ministry in Eastern Equatoria Province, working with a longtime Sudanese ministry partner. We will try to use your spiritual and/or vocational gifting in a country with great needs, but with a great desire to grow. We welcome teachers, platform and personal evangelists, medical personnel, children's workers, micro-economic development trainers, etc.

for an idea of how God can use you in the new Republic of South Sudan. We provide translators, as needed, although many Sudanese speak English. Here are stories from past trips.
The trip dates are March 10-24, 2012 (open to minor adjustment). The cost is approximately $2,200, plus roundtrip airfare from the USA to Entebbe, Uganda. Our agent offers discounted fares on quality airlines. Visa, immunizations and personal outfitting are extra. You'll leave amenities to leave a mark on the newest nation.

After about eight years of work at College Hill Courts, Chattanooga, Tenn., and after clearing up my misconceptions and trying to be good news to folks, we find that the need for jobs is a common denominator. Some who are indifferent to receiving a New Testament often light up when offered "soft" job information, such as websites, employment programs, and contact information for local companies. Sometimes we have "hard" job leads, from word-of-mouth, Craigslist and personal contact with employers. We then have a second conversation, this time about job possibilities, and the basis of a possible friendship.
Idleness leads to all kinds of disfunction and sometimes lawbreaking. Since March, 2011, gunfire has erupted at least four times, including a murder on June 20, 2011. A friend who is often in this hood says that having nothing to do is a prime reason for the violence.
